At least with the shattered pelvis I would still get to enjoy the experience and aftermath for a good while before the fact my crotch is now powdered bone mixed with severed veins bleeding out ruins the fun, whereas the skull being pulverized would only allow me to enjoy it before and during the process, with the instant death that follows spoiling the fun.
