Somehow this is a consistent thing for cartoon shows.
Making a group of characters older into teenagers just seem to remove the fantasy and wonder and instead just some slightly more wacky teenage life.
Remember Rugrats? Remember any episode of Rugrats in highschool? Yeah me neither.
Ed Edd n Eddy was still them selves but putting them in school still made them more boring than previous adventures.
