I am all for gay representation but has anyone else noticed that only one gender it is getting an insanely disproportionate amount of that representation? Like I honestly struggle to think of a recent show that has had a male gay couple be the focus of attention meanwhile I can think of five off the top of my head that has had lesbians front and center of the camera

Off the top of my head, Voltron had dude on dude. Though that might not count as it was more or less just lip-service and bait, which pissed off the fans. Much like the rest of their "representation".
