one of the most important factors in the creation and continuation of our community is our freedom to share and create works based on copyrighted material.

a bill has been written which threatens this freedom. it hasn't passed yet, but if it does:

it would allow the government to ORDER internet service providers to block websites containing anything the bill deems "infringing".

individuals may be sent to prison for up to 5 years for streaming a copyrighted work.

many websites (including this one) would be at risk of being shut down.

this bill is essentially an attempt to censor the internet.
