Everyone thinks Goku is your usual super-friendly all-loving shonen character, but really he's barely any more sane than Vegeta is. His reckless bloodlust has endangered the universe more than once and he really doesn't seem to care about the destruction left in their wake, unless it's a friend of his.

Vegeta is obviously better because he's named after ALL vegetables, whereas Goku is just named after a carrot.
