I uploaded this meme in 2017 when both Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein were trending regarding allegations of sexual misconduct and r---. Around the same time, Dove had an ad campaign that flopped--it showed what ultimately was viewed as the transformation of a Black woman into a White woman. Before Dove could retract and apologize for that ad, the meme community had a field day. This was one of a handful of my own contributions. I substituted Bill Cosby's and Harvey Weinstein's faces for the models used in the Dove ad. I also added "Dove already apologized for this, right?" at the top.
It's 1989. You're told that one of these celebrities would end up doing family-friendly movies for Disney and the other would end up on trial for multiple sexual assaults. Who would you choose?
