Yemen also saw a similar increase.

He also halted a lot of the verification of info to protect civilian lives, so under him civilian deaths surged (relative to the number of drone strikes). The focus simply shifted from "places people knew and cared about) to "places they do not". But the intensity didn't decrease. At all.

And because people complained about those deaths he simply… stopped making that info public. The reason we know of the extend of the Obama era drone wars is because of transparency, which was lacking during the Trump years.

Just because he didn't tell anyone about it, because he simply made drone strikes less transparent, doesn't mean he didn't conduct a drone war, nor that he didn't conduct war in new places. Something something "if a tree falls and nobody is there to hear it…"

Technically he didn't start them, yes… but he also did nothing to reduce the US engagement there, quite the contrary.
