I mean, take in account that there are quite a few works that take a "god is evil, or at least oppressive" works and make Lucifer's rebellion understandable, plus making the bible a case of "history is written by the winners". Is worth mentioning that in many religions and mythologies that aren't based around a single god and where gods aren't morally perfect, there's often a figure like the snake in the garden of eden, difference being, when this figure commits treachery and brings humans something, it is usually portrayed as something good from the human point of view, best known case being Prometheus stealing the fire and giving it to humans.

So, in the context of the show, it would fall under one of these scenarios. I mean, even if you are some weird puritan saying that Steven brings "degeneracy", let's be honest, from a human point of view, PD would be unquestionably good. I mean, for all her flaws and dumbass ways of doing things, she did prevent the earth from being drained into a dead husk. For all the species living in that planet, that is an unquestionably good act.
