An interesting way I could see something like that happen is if Austin and Dr. Evil still looks like characters from an anime made in the 60s or 70s, but everyone else looks like they came from a late 90s or early 00s anime (and when time travel comes into play in Goldmember there's chances for multiple style swaps).
