According to a recent poll, only around 25% of polled Latinos even know of the word's existence, and only 3% actually use it. That should be telling enough on it's own, but Westerners will use it anyway until their ever-emcompassing cultural gravitation makes it the new normal in a few years, then they will pretend that us Latinos "always used that word" and call everyone who does not some -phobic label. Literal cultural erasure in the name of faux progressivism.
