Ever since this Tifa meme started, I've been seeing quite a lot of Italian stereotype jokes and a complete lack of outrage. Don't get me wrong, I think theyre funny and no one should be mad.

So why exactly can we openly joke about Italians with stereotypes and people love it, but you do that with any non-European group and you become problematic and racist, regardless of how well meaning the joke is?

the same thing why you can joke about mexicans: we don't give a single a single fuck and we can laugh at them too.
Also, a lot of these are Italo-American sterotypes so they kinda fly over our heads most of the time. Take Spaghetti with meatballs stereotype for example, no Italian proud of their heritage would be caught dead mixing the two together.
