Galactus Eating Earth is an illustration of the Marvel Comics villain Galactus eating planet Earth, created by Australian comic book artist Tom Hoskisson in October 2024. The image inspired the Galactus Soyjak meme, which is a Soyjak drawing of Hoskisson's artwork replacing the Marvel character. The Galactus Eating Earth drawing gained traction as an exploitable meme on Twitter / X and Reddit in which users added text and captions over the planet while the villain devours it.

Origin

On October 7th, 2024, Australian comic book artist Tom Hoskisson^[1] posted an illustration of a massive Galactus villain with a gaping mouth, appearing to devour a planet resembling Earth. The artwork (seen below) amassed more than 3.6 million views and 125,000 likes in seven months.

On February 6th, 2025, X^[2] user @EggmanHater06^[2] posted a Soyjak drawing version of Hoskisson's artwork. The original tweet has since been deleted (seen below).

The drawing of Galactus eating planet Earth gained viral usage in redraws and image macro memes on Twitter and Reddit in late 2024 and early 2025.

For instance, on November 20th, 2024, Memedroid^[3] user @moldnugget added a relatable text about someone taking a bite out of something they are eating (seen below), amassing more than 170 likes in six months.

On February 5th, 2025, Redditor^[4] u/The-Great-Escaper250 posted a screenshot from a Sonic The Hedgehog fan art of the character fighting Galactus. The post (seen below) amassed more than 1,600 upvotes and 127 likes in two months.
