I honestly can't believe how short-sightedly stupid Putin has been with Ukraine.

Like, honestly, how is this situation going to help Russia out of the hole it has dug for itself?

If they win, the whole democratic world is going to turn their backs on them, killing their economy even faster than it's currently dying, and they can't rely on China because they're copping it too, which leaves them with who? Syria? Mozambique?

If they lose, Putin's reputation is ruined, giving the resurging communist party in the Russian East a significant boost which could lead to the rebirth of the Soviet Union.

They may win the battle for Ukraine, but they've lost the war for Russia's survival as a world power.
