Going to the archived version of the site, Krupam's comment had the ancient aliens guy captioned with "Anime".

My guess is that whatever the original image was, it was changed. Some newer random image that happened to have the same URL. Why would a random off topic meme get so many upvotes? What sense would that make? Likewise, notice that the meme template itself wasn't really a thing 7 years ago.

The first. There presently is no way to alter a comment itself after being posted on KYM despite this constant request from the userbase and the mod team.

My guess was the original image was taken down after the comment was made and the URL was recycled at some point.
