E The term "Gold Digger" DISCUSSION Im sure this is obvious and has been repeated on this sub many a time, but lately I've been thinking about how the term "gold digger" and other terms perpetuate misogyny by shifting the blame to the woman in a two way relationship. Instead of a degrading term for "Sugar Daddy's" or older, predatory rich men, they call the young women they purposely seek out "Gold Diggers" to excuse that imbalanced relationship. Instead of referring to a man who paid for sex by some awful name, they call the woman who is so disadvantaged she has to sell her body a "w----". Instead of calling the cheater in a marriage something awful, they point to the women who he strayed with (despite her possible lack of knowledge in his marriage) and call her a "home- wrecker"! This terminology, and other language, is specifically designed to attack the woman in a relationship that requires two people. uhm Gold Digger is a misogynistic term honey Libertaria
