A Spectacle of a Bridge The bridge that connects the central square and the hills is called Glasses Bridge. It's a long, double-arched structure whose bottom is hidden in a sea of clouds. When you see it, you'll understand its affectionate nickname immediately. Many tourists enjoy the speedy thrill of rolling across the undulating structure- be sure to give it a try! In Super Mario Odyssey, the double-arched bridge in the Cap Kingdom is called "Glasses Bridge", as stated by the in-game travel brochure (right). It looks like the top half of a pair of glasses. However, the Art of Super Mario Odyssey book reveals that the bridge originated from a point in development where the Cap Kingdom was filled with water instead of fog. The reflection of the bridge in the water would have completed the glasses, as opposed to looking only like the top half as in the finished game. An easily missed bit of worldbuilding: in the Mushroom Kingdom, a Toad says Peach brought back hats from the moon. If the Toads are viewed through binoculars before finishing the story, they have no hats because Peach is not yet back from the moon.
