Even the recent mid-budget once-and-done movies that are the closest thing we have to the cult classics feel more like ripoffs of more successful mega-IPs. Take Nobody for example, it just feels like they wanted to create their own John Wick. The closest movie I've seen to one of these cult classics in recent memory was Willy's Wonderland, and I'm not sure if it so bad it's good or just a meh-tier FNAF ripoff that's easy to meme on because it has a mute Nicholas Cage strangle a possessed animatronic to death with his thighs and super-cringy lines left, right and center.
