That results in a lot of death, and they need to keep the meat grinder back. So they need 30K men a month to just keep up with the losses, and it takes months for the wounded to recover to fight again (if they're not just send back to the front to die). The reported average casualty ratio is 3:1, which is pretty bad. Russians face horrific losses when they're on the offensive, but Ukraine also faces losses when they attack as well so it evens out to 3:1. Russia hasn't deserved a good military rep for decades, especially as we've been told about the whole selling of supplies including stockpiles from corruption for a long long time, and even after post Georgia reforms we knew they didn't work within weeks.

The war just made more see through the paper tiger or for me going
