Daniel Ingram - Composer/Songwriter Felicia Dear Mr. Ingram, I'm not sure how often you check this page, but I would like to take this opportunity, now that "Smile Song" (aka Smile Smile Smile") is official, to write to you and share my feelings about it. 1 am a 24-year-old married woman (with no children), and I have been a Brony for about five months now. I have consistently loved every single piece of music that has come from this wonderful show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Up until yesterday, 'Winter Wrap-Up" was my all-time favorite song from the show. I did hear "Smile Song" when it leaked months back, and even though no one was sure if it was real" or fan-made, I still loved it. When I saw the entire number in yesterday's episode, I heard the opening chords and started singing along with Pirkie Pie, having known all the words already. I got about halfway through (to the "It's true some days are dark and lonely" line) before I literally started to cry. By the time Twilight and the other Mane Six showed up and started carrying Pinkie through town, I was sobbing Yes, this musical number in a children's cartoon moved me to tears. The sheer happiness and joy was so prevalent that I couldh't hold it in anymore. I told my husband that if it had continued another 10 seconds, I'd have burst. It was so amazingly well-written, performed and animated, and it perfectly conveyed not only what the character of Pinkle Pie is all about, but the entire show's message so incredibly well. I haven't cried so hard out of sheer happiness in nearly five years If you do read this, if you have made it this far, please know that every word I have said is absolutely from the bottom of my heart, and please pass along my thanks to everyone inwolved in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - Hasbro Sbudios, DHX Media Vancouver, the directors, the producers, the animators, he voloe actors (most especially Shannon Chan-Kent for her amazing singing work as Pinkie Pie) and yourself.
