You're treading dangerously by opening spoilered images, but if you do not care about spoilers and you really wish to know look up the backstory of the Light Dragon.

I wish the ending to this game didn't have such a consequence-free conclusion. All these fanworks, comics and comments showing how much the Light Dragon storyline meant to them, and the game just pulls a status quo reset button for a feelgood Disney ending. Almost made me feel embarrassed for getting myself emotionally invested in the story of a Nintendo game.
