Save scumming is another tool in the toolkit of learning strategy. Nobody should feel compelled to continue playing after a critical error has been made, nor should you feel the need to start over 100 turns in. In my opinion, and I repeat that this is my opinion, you should save before any gamble you make, every battle that the autoresolve says won't be an absolutely walk in the park, and before every war you declare on others so that you can learn from your mistakes and make the ideal decisions in future campaigns. Take a page from Tzeentch's book and explore all possible outcomes. And anyone that judges you for save scumming clearly doesn't care about your enjoyment of the game, only their superiority.
