How are we feeling about 2023 as an all time great year for gaming? Poimandres. ● Aug 3, 2023 Discussion > Gaming Forum 1 2 3 4 Next Poimandres Member Wow! fracas Member Aug 3, 2023 < #1 I noticed in the BG3 review in progress thread a lot of comments about 2023 being an amazing year for games, with some even saying it might be their favourite ever. I don't think I'd go that far, but these last few months have certainly been bountiful. I don't think the year started spectacularly, outside of nice surprises like Hi Fi Rush, but it was solid. Feels like May - August have just been huge game after huge game hitting. A very strong run. But, after Starfield and Spiderman 2 what do we have lined up for the tail end of the year? I really haven't been paying attention. A strong year no doubt, but how do people feel this year is currently measuring up against 1998, 2007, 2017 etc as all time great gaming years? If the upcoming titles hit the mark it's in the conversation for me. Aug 3, 2023 #2 It's probably my favorite year in nearly a decade. I WFH so I have more time to play than ever and I still can't keep up with all these releases. Even stuff that completely flew under my radar like Dave the Diver and Remnant 2 have blown me away. I just splurged on Baldur's Gate because h--------, that hype is unbelievable. It's been a near-constant deluge of GOTY contenders starting with Hi-Fi Rush in January. So much variety and incredible ideas across every genre imaginable.
