Okay, I haven't watched Batman Beyond but I sure as hell have watched Spider-Verse, and it adresses most of what this guy is talking about (which I suspect is mainly comics Miles)

- 3rd point about mentorship : Spider-Verse takes both points, with the first movie being mentorship and the 2nd being Miles figuring it out alone,
- 4th point is just false. Miles absolutely has his own life outside of Peter's, and Spider-Gwen is only Gwen Stacy in name and face, she's a spider-person first and foremost. To chalk her down as Peter's ex is disingenuous.
- 5th point is just dumb
- 6th point about costume is subjective, and Spider-Man's costume is already more restricted than Batman's. Other Spider-persons make it work like Spider-Gwen's hood or Superior's spider legs but if Miles is learning from Peter, it just makes sense the costumes are so similar.
- 7th point is fair but we already had "Spider-Man in the future" with Spider-Man 2099.
- 8th point is disingenuous. Miles is indeed taking more importance but he's far from replacing Peter. It just so happens that the 2 most popular recent pieces of Spider-Man media feature him in the spotlight, but Peter is never far.

So? There are stories with a half-Mexican/half-Irish man as the main Spider-Man. There are stories with a Spider-Woman, stories with a kid from India being Spider-Man, fuck there's a whole universe of stories where a cartoon pig is Spider-Man. So what's the problem with Miles being a main Spider-Man too?
