Dave Grohl Got The Chance To Jam With Prince In An Empty Arena source: Recording Academy / GRAMMYS All of the sudden, just like that SNL skit, he appears. He goes, "Hey man, what are you doing here?" I said, "I thought we were gonna jam."He goes, "You wanna play drums?" So I get up on his drummer's set and this thing had like 15 cymbals! So I sit down and start playing, he's watching me- then looks at his bass player and says, "Give me the bass" and we start playing together. He's throwing hand signals for chords and it turns into this thing. We're in an empty arena, no one is in there. I was thinking, "This is amazing!" Then he picks up a guitar and starts playing Whole Lotta Love. It was AWESOME, it sounded so good. We did that for like 8 minutes and I'm like, "This is the best band I've ever been in." Then we end and he's like, "What are you doing next week?" And I never saw him again. *Laughs* I had a school fundraiser.
