Stellar Blade - Am I understanding this correctly

I can honestly sort of sympathize. It's basically the publisher saying "the developers you like aren't allowed to do anything until WE get our fingerprints on it first." In this specific case with Stellar Blade it's just Sony making themselves look stupid, the Sony censors come across as incompetent weirdos. And in general it carries an implied insult of "we know better than you" and I think that's where the vitriol comes from

I don't believe it's a left vs right argument. It's more of a bait and switch issue. Along with gamers tired of corpos being moral guardians censoring games that's targeting a mature audience.
