I remember that scene, I honestly facepalmed harder then I ever had in my entire life; the BIOLOGIST of the crew sees a completely unknown life form that is hideous and clearly poses some threat, when he approaches it, it reels back makes itself bigger and hisses, the universal biological reaction of agression. He then thinks it's "cute" and goes to pet the freaking thing. I personally laughed my ass off when he was surprised that it attacked him.

And this was the crew picked to make first contact with the highly advanced alien race responsible for the creation of mankind?
