Okay, bronies, it's time for me to step on the soapbox once again. Some defenders of Equestria Girls are constantly using an argument that goes something like this: "There is a lot of fanart with humanized ponies on the Internet, therefore people shouldn't complain about Equestria Girls." I am a defender of Equestria Girls myself and I CAN'T STAND THIS ARGUMENT! To quote Daniel Dennett: "There's nothing I like less than bad arguments for a view I hold dear." And this argument is bad for two reasons: 1. YOU CAN'T HOLD THE ENTIRE FANDOM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OPINIONS AND TASTES OF SOME RANDOM SUBGROUP Yes, there are people who like humanized ponies. There are also those who don't. AND THESE PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION! The fact that fanart of humanized ponies exists DOESN'T CHANGE THAT! 2. JUST BECAUSE THERE IS FANART OF SOMETHING IT DOESNT MEAN IT SHOULD BE ON THE SHOW You know what else there is a lot of fanart of? Ponies having sex! If Hasbro decided to make a My Little Pony p----, would you all be like, "Oh, first you draw these images, and now you complain about Hasbro giving the fans what they want You guys are so stupid!" This also brings me to point number one: I DONT EXPECT YOU OR ANYONE ELSE TO EMBRACE AN IDEA, WHATEVER ITS MERITS MAY BE, JUST BECAUSE THERE IS FANART OF IT! Please have the same courtesy I'd like to stress this again: I have nothing against Equestria Girls! I would watch it in cinema if I lived in North America! My only beef is with this argument!

You make a good point, OP, although for what it's worth, Lauren Faust herself approved of at least one piece of humanized fanart.

The point is, there's a difference between liking something in the fandom, and liking something in the show.
Some things are better as imaginative make-believe, just because I love seeing ponies drawn as humans doesn't mean I think it's a good idea for that to happen in the show.
Fan content isn't permanent. If someone draws Twilight battling Celestia, it doesn't become a part of the canon, and therefor we can do things and explore situations that can't or shouldn't actually happen. Fallout: Equestria, would be another example.
