Let me explain :
Chrysalis is pretty awesome, but they were also very different characters. Chrysalis is more like an elegant evil (and I'd not really call her evil, she was just trying to feed her people) and somewhat sadistic.

Shimmer on the other hand, she was strictly after power and struck me as more of a "no-nonsense" type of character. She knew what she wanted, and she'd do practically anything to get it. I don't think she'd /want/ to sing.

They're both pretty interesting though, considering how they've both only appeared for a short amount of time.
