Well what the hell else is a parent going to do!? Lets be real here, 99% of people have no problem with their gender, the highest estimates I have seen of trans* people are about 1 in 5000. To put that into comparison, the rate of autism is a little over 1 in 100. Odds are your kid is going to be perfectly happy with their gender they grow up with.

I am speaking as a trans-woman mind you, I don't blame my mother for anything regarding this, how the literal fuck was she suppose to know I would want to be a woman as a baby.
