RBY trainer AI will always use Super-Effective attacks. Venomoth is Poison-type, so the AI will always use Psychic and Ground attacks on it. Dragonite knows Agility and Barrier, which are Psychic but don't do damage, but the AI doesn't realize that. So it kept using Agility and Barrier, while ATV waited him out.
