While I do like Spike's little crush, and the attention it's gotten. (It wasn't just a random thing that was dropped after the first episode) I never get why people assume Rarity should have feelings too.

Ignoring the age/species thing, they're hardly alike in any respect. They have an affinity for gems, and that's about all we've seen, and it's for entirely different reasons too. Hell, Spike only seems to like her for her looks anyway.

It's a nice, logically done crush, but I think that's as far as they should go. Though, considering McCarthy seems to have personal dislike to the whole Spike/Rarity thing…(Which is amusing for several reasons) Well, it might just fade away..
