Anonymous asked: Someone on twitter has referred to 4chan as 'the Cathedral of Misogyny'. I personally think that throwing around ignorant catch-all sentiment like that is hypocritical and damaging. Do people decrying 4chan not realise that there are boards for everything from Igbt issues to My Little Pony? Blanket statements against'4chan' as if it's a single entity are as silly if I were to call for a ban on libraries because they have books I don't like in them. Your thoughts? I think people need villians and heroes. 4chan is a perfect villian as there is no one face that you have to see in pain when you hit it. Conversely as there is no one person to punish if they speak out it is difficult to censor when it doesn't agree with the status quo With that comes certain advantages and certain disadvantages. An adult would realize this is like anything in life That being said if a person is truly doing something illegal on 4chan and not merely subversive they should be punished. But unfortantly part of a free society is dealing with people that don't agree with your opinion and thus critcism even harsh critcism is not illegal.
