Eggman has found a way to be incredibly logical (the first two panels) and absolutely insane (the rest of the strip) simultaneously.

Guys, stop saying his left arm is robotic, it isn't. At this point in the comic he had gone insane, all the junk on his arm is just technology he wrapped it in to emulate the robotic arm he had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when he was Robotnik and not Eggman, back in the original comics before he robotized himself and changed to a new body.
