I believe most leftists already know about the authoritarianism in the US: many of them protested the NSA while right wings always did a cop out statement of "If you have nothing to hide, then it shouldn't be a problem"
I think gamers as a whole haven't been "sleeping" moreover it's the straw that broke our back as we were sick of being called entitled, whiny, and misogynistic when we were promised things that weren't delivered, complain rightfully so when a game is bugged to hell and we put faith in reviews saying it's an 8/10
Personal harm, not as far as I know. Social harm perhaps as the norms set by the group are low quality and the solidarity makes it to where no one is playing devils advocate for the group causes groupthink
I think it is in the best of GG interests not to be mudslinging. However funny it may be, it would be using the tactics anti GG has been using for years
