I’ve had cats all my life, and they’ve always hopped up stairs while they walk down them
Also, the Architectural portion of my three year drafting classes tells me that whoever built or owned those stair would be facing lawsuits if the protruding edges were pointing up. That’s just asking for an untimely death. Not to mention that either the cat and the hallway are freakishly wide and large, or the steps are FAR below what even the most incompetent regulations would allow.
