Pull up a chair and shut your faces. I'm about to break down how unintentionally incredible the Lusty Argonian Maid is in universe.

Morrowind, the game that Crassius Curio is in, takes place in 3E 427, Skyrim takes place in 4E 201. If I understand the Elder Scrolls calendar correctly, the Third Era (3E) ended after 3E 433, when Oblivion took place, so Skyrim is set about 201 years after Oblivion. With this in mind, we now know that the Lusty Argonian Maid, what was basically a pet project of a perverted lesser noble of a Morrowind Great House somehow continues to exist in at least a few people's hands over 200 years into the future.

That wouldn't be such an extreme accomplishment, but I don't recall ever hearing about printing presses or other such means of mass production for written materials in Tamriel. This leads me to only one possible explanation… The Lusty Argonian Maid was countless times more popular and successful than Fifty Shades of Grey will ever be. Think of it. If it were just an average porno, it wouldn't likely survive for over two centuries on its eroticism alone. Clearly something else keeps it around. You're never able to read more than a passage or two in any game (barring mods, of course), but I'd wager this little book is like a cross between Fifty Shades of Grey and the Kama Sutra for the residents of Tamriel. Dibella must be proud.
