YandereDev Yesterday at 8:35 PM There is a person who ripped my game's assets, dropped them into a Unity project, and gave a character the ability to walk around in that environment, creating the flimsy illusion that they are developing a game. This person has claimed, "Look, I re-created Yandere Sim in under 2 weeks!" which is a ridiculous claim, because they didn't actually create anything, they just copy-pasted my assets into Unity and called it their own work. It's not a game, it's a mirage of a game. Unfortunately, this person's scam is gaining a massive amount of traction. Since they uploaded a video announcing their "project" 2 days ago, they have amassed almost 100k views on YouTube. An alarming number of people actually believe that someone else has managed to re- create Yandere Sim 100% within 2 weeks, and that the "developer" is going to build a superior game that surpasses Yandere Sim. It's pretty ridiculous. Tens of thousands of people are falling for the false narrative that "It's possible to re-create Yandere Sim within 2 weeks" and are spreading the notion that everyone should jump ship from my project to this new project. I presume this will have a powerful negative impact on the ability of the Kickstarter to be successful. If the Kickstarter fails, Yandere Sim can't exist. This is an existential threat to Yandere Simulator. If all of the assets in his game were original, and he made everything from scratch, I would say "There's no problem." But he literally just downloaded all of my assets and claimed that he's developing a game. He is also under the impression that he is legally safe doing this. Action has to be taken. Swift legal action.
