The point is: memes follow rules. Heck, that's why "internet scientists" try to categorize and study trends. But if put the current events through the filter of a meme, have I created something, or was it the culture itself that did so?

Or did culture create ME?!

For decades now, the culture in "first world countries" has been molded by commercial media. They tell the general population what is fashionable, socially acceptable, etc. and anyone who disagrees becomes an outcast. If this so-called "cultural singularity" were to take place, it would put the power back in the people's hands to create their own culture. Which, I think, could only improve society.
