ECLIPSE - A Second Life Machinima Movie

Notes

Eclipse is a Second Life Machinima film produced by students at Palm Springs High School in Palm Springs, CA. Zachary Rodriquez is a Junior and a special needs student who conceived the story idea for this film based off of his favorite cartoon series, "My Little Pony". This is a cute little coming of age story about a pony named Moonbeam who becomes jealous over her brother, Sunspot and how they come to reconcile their differences.

Special thanks to Zachary Rodriguez and to my 6th period students who worked after school on this special movie!

Submitted to:
DigiCom Film Festival
Machinima-Expo
EduMachinima Fest at the ISTE 2014 Conference in Atlanta

Machinima is a portmanteau of Machine and Animation. Teachers and students screencapture in 3D environments, edit, add music, audio and special effects and then contribute to this new form of expression known as Machinima. Virtual Filmmaking at it's best!

Machinima is used by students in learning and by teachers to present content and ideas. Machinima has a great potential as we move to the "flipped" classroom.
