About

Alguna Pregunta Més (also know as APM?) is a satirical TV program focused into television media which airs in the autonomic television of Catalonia (TV3); Spain. The program gets viral on the spanish web.

Origins

APM? originally started in the year 1995 as a comedy segment in the radio show "El matí" aired in Catalunya Ràdio. It's creators and host where Antoni Bassas and Xavier Bosch who basically used sound stock from various sources (films, TV shows, series, music) for analyze the political and social situation in Spain and Catalonia trough comedy. The segment still continued airing in the radio until the year 2008 when Antoni Bassas leave "El Mati" for reasons related to contract negotiation.

Being the most popular segment in the Catalonian radio, in the year 2004 the autonomic television directives offered Bassas and Bosch celebrate their program's tenth anniversary with a TV special which was aired in 14th July of same year. The TV special was such a success TV3 directives asked Bosch and Bassas if they would air a weekly TV show respecting their radio format as the special did, the TV show is still airing today.

APM? is a satiric show without host nor clear script except for those of specific segments dedicated to a certain aspect of TV media and contemporary culture and subculture. The main focus of the jokes are point to the lack of competence from politicians to international pop culture figures as well as TV media impact in society, using archive TV images of the most ridiculous and surrealistic moments in Spain's TV history related mostly to the working and mid classes of said country and their obvious lack of formation and illiteracy.

Reception

The evolution of APM? from a radio show segment to it's own TV show divided in segments as a result of it's popularity also explains the extension of said program trough the rest of Spain even belonging to a local TV station thanks to fans leaking entire programs trough YouTube.

Online Reception

APM? generated memes, which are basically the most popular catchphrases belonging to the stock TV images used for the punchlines, are just limited to the Spain users of the net as well as those Spanish speaking countries. So far the program has generated merchandising related to said memes being the "dictionaries" ,dedicated to explain their meaning, the most popular ones:

Search Interest

Google Insights show a large spike in searches for APM? in April of 2011, when the YouTube user know as Gutiflow4ever began sharing entire shows in his channel.
