Since a blatant episode of race fixing in 2002 (also involving the Ferrari team), the racing governing body at the FIA outlawed the so-called "team orders", i.e., ordering a teammate to easily let past another driver with a higher stake in the championship.

In the 2010 German Grand Prix held July 25, 2010 in the Hockenheim circuit, Ferrari driver Felipe Massa was leading. Superstar driver Fernando Alonso was running second in the other Ferrari. Then Massa received the following message from radio:

"Fernando is faster than you, Can you confirm you understood that message?"

Then Massa lets Alonso past:

Ferrari was fined US$100,000 for unsporting conduct. A punishment much derided as too soft.

"Fernando is faster than you" became a catchphrase. They're even selling T-Shirts now.
