It is suspected that it originated on 4chan, but there are no archived threads to confirm this. The earliest verified mention comes from the Foul Bachelorette Frog Facebook page in March of 2010.^[1]

The Twitter account "@bachelorettfrog" was created in September 2010.^[2] A "fckyeahbachelorettefrog" Tumblr was created on November 22nd, 2010.^[3] The first Reddit post appeared on December 7th, 2010 and was titled "Just in time for the holidays: Foul Bachelorette Frog" and received 341 upvotes.^[4] It is unclear what date the Memegenerator page was created.^[5] The first Memebase post was on January 16th, 2011.^[6]

Search queries containing the words "bachelorette" and "frog" started in June of 2010, and have since had spikes in August 2010, January 2011, and April 2011, with each spike being higher than the previous one.
