The photo "Go paint your lighthouse, Nora!" started appearing on 4Chan in early June of 2011, serving as a combination of "Cool story, bro!" and "Troll trolled.". It usually gained replies such as "Pete's Dragon all up in this, bitch!".
The photo was taken from a movie entitled "Pete's Dragon", released in the 1970's, featuring Helen Reddy as Nora, Mickey Rooney as Lampie, Sean Marshall as Pete, Jim Dale as Doc Terminus, and Red Buttons as Hoagy. The movie was about a boy who found a dragon, and escaped from his slavery to a small town called Passamaquoddy. The scene in which the photo came from was when Doc Terminus and Hoagy attempted to purchase Pete's dragon, Elliott. Nora became angry, to which Doc Terminus replied, "Go paint your lighthouse, Nora!", handing her a paintbrush and pushing her away.
