I'm At Soup, also known as Soup Store, is an animated meme in which two characters are shown yelling at each other over a phone call: One character requires another's presence, but the other is occupied with shopping for clothes and can't find anything but soup. As the former character instigates the other character's search, it's discovered that the latter is in the soup store.

Origin

The skit was first created in an abridged parody of Code Geass – called Code MENT – for its sixteenth episode, uploaded to YouTube on May 2nd, 2015 by PurpleEyesWTF.[1] A snippet of the scene was posted on May 4th, 2015 by YouTuber AndeePasta, gaining over 3 million views.

(Lelouch Lamperouge, from his dining room, calls Suzaku Kururugi on a cell phone. Suzaku answers his cell phone in a grocery store.)
Lelouch: Hello?
Suzaku: Hey, what's up?
Lelouch: I need your help, can you come here?
Suzaku: Uh, I can't, I'm buying clothes.
Lelouch: Alright, well hurry up and come over here.
Suzaku: I can't find them.
Lelouch: What do you mean you can't find them?
Suzaku: I can't find them, there's only soup.

The first animation to use the skit's audio was made by YouTube user Kin's Secret Stash,[2] which was uploaded to YouTube on May 2nd, 2015, the same day the episode aired. Six months after its upload, the video has gained over 100,000 views (shown below, left). On June 18th, YouTube user Krunkidile[3] uploaded the most popular I'm At Soup variation, gaining over 6.7 million views (shown below, right).

The video has also inspired some image macros. For example, on February 7th, 2020, Twitter user @alexsteacy[4] posted an I Am Once Again Asking For Your Financial Support variation (shown below, left). On October 17th, 2019, Redditor noname-nolife posted an image referencing the skit to /r/animemes,[5] gaining over 22,000 points (shown below, right).
