Le Pentagon

Le pentagon is a re-surging meme from late 2012 and early 2013 on /r/f7u12. Though the mods were not permitting of the revolutionary new meme, the reaction comics can still be seen from as early as November 2012. In spring of 2014, the newer, "second wave" pentagon comics resurfaced, receiving mixed reactions on /r/f7u12. The meme itself is used as more of a catch-all for unexpected events and spontaneous occurrences, interrupting the usual rage comic flow and instead of serving the purpose of telling a story, makes dramatic changes in the direction of the comic for comedic effect. Many response comments have been made on f7u12 showing the more stubborn users qualms with the change of memes and new direction that rage comics have taken in the new year. Submissions of le pentagon have yet to make the front page of reddit, but are common among the new submissions page, with mixed reception from users. Still, le pentagon is steadily growing and inevitably will be the next generation of memes and rage faces on reddit.
