A three-year-old Onion News video began spreading through Facebook on July 20, 2010. Facebook users began posting the video in status updates suggesting it was both real and current, accompanied by some mention of "Obama's martial law plans". This has been compared to the 1938 War of the Worlds radio broadcast.
Searching public Facebook status updates for 'Martial Law' shows many of the users posting the video without understanding it's proper context.
