About
‘Nigga Stole my Bike’ is a popular (albeit racially insensitive) internet catchphrase. The phrase and photo originated in 2002 on Off-Topic Forums and spread slowly until it reached the Something Awful Photoshop Phriday on March 20th 2003. The theme was ‘Video Game Heroes Gone bad’, and user Allanon858 entered a still from the game Mike Tyson’s Punch Out with the phrase ‘Nigga Stole My Bike’ as a caption. The scene was from a training cutscene where the protagonist, Little Mac, jogged after his trainer, who was riding a bike.

Reaction
Since the image was posted on Something Awful, it has been copied and spread around the internet in many forms.
On June 3rd, 2004 YTMND user iammikeol used an image from the classic NES game Super Punch-Out with a loop from the song Get Low by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz.
On July 25th, 2004, YTMND user Duezce created a YTMND featuring the image, as well as a soundclip of a voice saying ‘Nigga Stole My bike’. Soon after followed sites such as NSMB: Punch-Out Remix, where YTMND user CheapAlert included an animated GIF of the scene, as well as his Remixed version of the song from the Punch-Out game, mixed with the sound file from Diezce’s site. Other notable spinoffs include:
