In that case, I think we all know a seemingly weak guy who will likely do some awesome things later on.
After all the training with his red-headed love interest, I'm willing to bet that he's much stronger than before. When we finally find out his Semblance, It's probably going to be incredibly powerful.

Heck, he may even replace Ruby as a main character eventually. I mean, I may act like I don’t respect him much, but I honestly think he might be able to save Remnant.
