The best part is that she's considered a rapper. The majority of the rappers in music history are hotheaded, even among their pop peers. With Pearl alone, it would be too much, which is where Marina comes in. With a more cool, pop influenced side to her, the two are extremes stabilized by the presence of the other person. Callie and Marie were highly synchronized in their actions and mannerisms, which makes them a well thought out foil to the co-dependent duo we see here.
