Strange how commonly this word accompanies censorship in these days.

Not really, the doorknob SCP was kind of a minor polemic back in 2015, when some people who couldn't take a joke to save their lifes thought it was portraying sexual harassment as something funny and harmless (somehow).
When this whole thing with the SJWs and the trans SCP started, they brought up this to rub salt into the wound.
BTW, they edited the SCP-7143-J article to remove all references about the damn doorknob being sexually attractive, now the "joke" is that… it is a normal doorknob being treated as an SCP. Sense of humour at its finest.
